The pad was from Bam, I mentioned to him I needed one and he had one. Can you not get them from Ford anymore?Originally posted by Clayton View Post

I cleaned the car, took it for a Sunday drive through the German Eifel and had to clean it again 😂

evening all
Being locked up for 10 weeks tomorrow I had enough so taxed the car and filled it up, only took me an hour 😂
Some of you may remember the carbon rear engine bay cover I finally got round to fitting it. 🙃😬
Plus quick wipe over ready for a trip to Pete's soon

Trial fitted my Morette indicator units to see what they looked like on the car (been years since i bought them
). Decided i do like them, so i just need to figure out whether to either a) leave them in the standard ABS plastic finish 2) paint them gloss black 3) paint them imperial blue or 4) get them layered in carbon fibre - decisions, decisions
One thing i forgot with the indicator units - Ford fitted them with such a stupidly short wiring loom into the bulb holder making them a bit of a bugger to remove the unit from the bulb holder. Thankfully, just like my Morette headlights, at least the indicator units come with at least 3 inches of wiring into the unit making life easier.
Also decided to remove the factory steering column audio control unit as it's been bugging me for years - never used it since as i changed to an Alpine unit shortly after purchasing the car so it became redundant. I then remembered why i hadn't removed it previously - there's now a nice hole to cover in the steering column plastic & i've forgotten what my original plan was, years go, to deal with that
I reckon it was probably something along the lines of cutting out a piece of plastic from a used steering coloum and plastic welding it in.

Underside looking fantastic there
For my own, i remembered today that the MOT is due on August 4th. What with the MOT extension ending at the end of July, i'd better get that booked pretty soon. So it looks like the first drive for the car this year will probably be for the MOT then. Better get it taxed again too i guess.
Hopefully, now that restrictions are being eased i can use the same time to get to the bottom of the lack of boost / misfire issue that plagued the car the last time i used it in '19. Might even be able to, finally, get it to MAD for the mapping checks, etc.

6 months tax purchased this afternoon - £181.50 - hopefully should get about 3 months of use out of that before SORN and getting the other 3 months refunded back.
Time to get the MOT sorted now i guess. Of course this is all working on the basis that the car actually starts & runs fine that is
. Thanks to Covid it hasn't run since late October last year.
