Sabre seem to have a good following. Got any pictures of the head unit Dan?

Also going with seats. The standard seats suck IMO.

I went with electric BMW E46 seats because I'm lazy, and liked the style. They also mostly just bolt in, which is nice. Although I am looking longingly at a set of E92 seats because they have more adjustment options. Downside, I'd need to work out how to control them as they, apparently, talk to the ECU.

Second, though, definitely swapping to an air-to-air cooling solution. The factory charge cooler system seems entirely unpredictable, and I like having less moving parts involved in cooling.

Let's see some pictures of the seats. I've already got a wrc front mount fitted. It's a really efficient cooler

https://i.imgur.com/g2NIbpur.jpg obviously just some cheapy ones to test with and not lose much cash if it was all a foolish idea.

https://i.imgur.com/hJ7QUnC.jpg I made a cardboard aided design and had some little plates made out of 6mm mild steel, the front holes lined up perfectly.

As for the electrics, I added a second fuse box and wired them fused to ignition switched 12v as they are in the BMW - the e92 seats are different apparently - but the E46 seats are popular in the hotrod scene because all you need is 12 and ground.

The seatbelt anchors bolt on in the same place as the BMW ones, just need a little spacer between the legs of the pretensioner mount to be able to torque them up right.

Yeah i have to say Leighton was very helpful, i asked him specifically to advise of any parts that i would need so i could safely achieve a decent power, i asked him to map it so that nothing was maxed out, most things i have fitted are capable of more but i wanted him to make it reasonably reliable! This is probably the best picture i have of the head unit.

That looks quite nice mate. I'm not sure if I'll change mine as I won't do many miles in it but I like the idea of hands free

I don't do that many miles in mine really, like you say hands free and i quite enjoy the simplicity of my entire music library through my phone haha.

Now that has shocked me. They look comfy but they must weigh a tonne

I don't know how much they weigh, but I don't remember them weighing much more than the standard seats tbh. I definitely didn't have any issues with weight when picking them up or putting them in. Not to say they're light, but yeah. All things considered, not too bad.

Seat in the fiesta, also have a recaro pole position. Want to get a pair for the focus now.

The Recaro (adjustable) seat bases are no longer available off Recaro.

For mine - probably the custom interior & exterior carbon bits i had custom made back in '07.

Although, maybe the Morette headlight conversion, as a close second, as i know loads of people loved that mod when i did it

Would have to say either the itb plenum or the twin scroll turbo. Both upgrades made the car very responsive.

Best mod I've done by far has to be the ap 6 pot brakes much better than the brembo brakes and saved me from disaster a few times

I'm a big fan of good brakes. People are too hung up on big power without the chassis to use it. I'm looking forward to fitting my BTCC brakes and Leda suspension. Them combined with the gripper diff and 235 profile kuhmos should get me through the bends with ease
