  • P1115 - Intake air temperature sensor code

Hi I’ve got an engine management light for the P1115 code which is for the intake air temperature sensor I have replaced the sensor and cleared the codes but it’s still coming back.

Any other ideas or common issues related to this?

I'd suggest changing the MAF sensor. That's what cleared the code for me many years ago.

Yeah I’m going down that route. Going to swap it with the one from my ST170 to see if that works.

Aren't the MAF sensor and the temperature sensor the same thing? I mean, doesn't it take intake air temperature?
I had a faulty intercooler pump. The intake air temp was up to 65 degrees which is very high when driving quietly. And it didn't show any errors. By the way in my case I need to check some sensor? It's very strange why the car didn't warn me about the pump malfunction. I learnt it only when I connected the scanner and while driving saw the air temperature constantly rising.

Yeah I’m going to swap the MAF with the one from my ST170 to see if that cures the issue. Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions on the MAF I swapped it out for the one from my ST170 and the code has gone all seems to be working well..

The MAF is a pig to get to as you have to drop the air box from the bottom of the car as the MAF is hard up against the n/s chassis leg.

This was the original RS MAF coated in dirt (I have cleaned this with contact cleaner and put it back in my ST170 and it seems to be ok)

Compared to the the MAF from the ST170 which was pristine.

Anyway, refitted and no more codes and EML has gone off.

Well I was wrong, the original MAF is dead and my ST170 doesn’t drive well now haha. But I’ve sourced a couple of spares and it’s a million times easier to replace on the ST170 than the RS.
