  • Auxiliary belt lower cover & rear arch liner fixings

    Hello All,

Trying to tick off a few jobs before the Focus hits the road for the summer, and looking for help with a couple of parts.

Does anyone know if the Aux belt lower cover on the RS is common to any other MK1 Focus?
Or, if anyone has one that they would sell that would be appreciated.

I’m also looking for two of the clips that the screw at the rear end of the side skirt fixes into, holding the side skirt and wheel arch liner in place. If anyone has some of these to sell, a part number or even a picture, that would be a great help.

    Thanks,
    Gary

I can’t help you with info regarding the cover, but will send you pics of the screw and clip this weekend or Monday.

I believe that cover is specific to the rs. That being said i'm not sure how different a 2.0 zetec focus with a/c would be. Cant be much in it?

          Thanks Dan,
Was thinking about buying one for a 2.0 Zetec and seeing whether it would work. Should be easy enough to find one of those

I have to admit i havent seen any advertised for the rs for sale in a long time, so definitely worth having a look to see if the 2.0 zetec one off a breaker or something would work. I've had a look and the two definitely have different part numbers but that doesnt completely rule out the other one as fitting of course.

Lower timing belt cover is not RS specific according to Microcat, it is the same cover as the 2.0 VVT (170PS) ST

                Thanks Clayton,
That’s a great bit of information. Should be able to find an ST170 easy enough.
Another part of the jigsaw falls into place....

Have you got any pictures of the fixings you're after as Microcat can be very misleading?

Hi Clayton, as i understand it, its not the lower timing belt cover the OP is after? I read it as the one which bolts onto the underside of the chassis rail and covers the lower aux pulley/belt arrangement. I may be mistaken here though and happy to be corrected. (Part no: 1227834)

That's how I read it too Dan.

This is the lower aux belt cover, unsure if it’s RS specific.

The screw and clip for the rear arch liner where it meets the side skirt.
It's a TX30 screw with 2cm thread, the clip is a simple U-clip which goes on the arch liner as you can see in the 2nd picture.

I have no idea why my pictures are rotated, it's not how I uploaded them.

This is how my rear liners are fastened also. I bought some new zinc plated u clips for a couple of quid.

                      Evening Gents,

Thanks for all of the replies.

Dan is correct, it is the cover is the one which bolts to the chassis rail that I’m looking for. Unfortunately, I can’t view the pictures that Bart has kindly posted, I’ll check with Clayton whether I’ve a problem with my account

                      Cheers,

                      Gary

Hi Gary, I just noticed your not a full member.
That’s the reason you can’t view the pictures (and benefit from all the other things we offer our club members).

                      Hello Bart,

Have renewed my subscription and can now see the pictures.
I must have been overthinking the clips, will get some u clips ordered.
Have ordered an ST170 lower aux belt cover as it looks like the one in your picture.

Thanks again for taking the time to help

                      Gary
