  • Looking for Info on 3728

    Hi all,

I have been trying to track down no 3728, Original reg no XIL4200

My father bought the car new in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland in 2003 and sold it after 4 years with 4,000 miles on it to a guy Johnny Forsythe From Kilkeel NI, who had it featured in Fast ford, the car was traded in in Belfast around 2012 and seems to have vanished since. Johnny seems to have kept the XIL4200 number and the car was re registered, i don't know what number plate is now on the car.

I have spoken to Clayton who knows the Car from the time Johnny owned it, but there is no record of it since on the build list.

It could be in Northern Ireland but I know a lot of RS's from Northern Ireland sell to Scotland or England, so it could be anywhere.

iIf anyone knows the car, or where it is now, I would love to hear!

I have a genuine interest in buying it back

    Thanks

    Gareth

Nice to chat with you recently Gareth and good see you post on the forum asking, hopefully a current owner will come along to find this thread searching the
    build number or registration.

Here are some images found using the number plate on Google

Hi I used to own this and still have the plate. I tried finding the car with no luck, I tried finding the car to give the reg back as it seems to be on sorn. The reg I sold it on was tjz3004 iirc with 23k on it. Clay should have those details?

          Hi Johnny,

Thanks for the reply, you've solved a long running mystery by coming up with the car's re-reg number!

Really glad to see she still exists...somewhere!

Have you seen it anywhere since you sold it?

          My hunt continues....!

I haven't laid eyes on it, I would of tried to buy it back as I shoukd never of sold it but needs must and all that. Car was sold pretty much standard again apart from the remap, poly bushed and the splitter. I still have the genuine mats and 2 ps2 tyres from it.

I’m going to bump this thread, as new members join up all the time!

…The car must still be under cover somewhere🤞🏻!

                Hi Gareth,

I would have a look on the RS Owners Ireland pages.
When an NI car vanishes off the Tax/MOT check like that, its normally ended up in the South. There are a few really nice ones that pop up at shows down there quite often. There is a Kildare reg'd car that looks like it could possibly be it, but there isnt much to distinguish a Mk1 RS from any of the rest!

I have decided to start actively looking for one for myself for the near future, so if I come across any clues or updates, i'll keep you posted.

                Kevin.
