  • MK1 RS going though Auction - Please Help.

Hi All, I'm looking to purchase an RS - Reg Number: AK53KGE/RS03KYL. Does anyone know anything about this car? thanks

What Auctions is it going through? Does it give a mileage/owners etc. The problem with a Mk 1 focus is, you can get a low mileage low owners model than will be in worse condition than a high miler with more owners.

Hi. It's done 50k with 5 owners. Going through BCA. I was hoping it belonged to a forum member who could shed some light on it.

I'm sure someone will know the car if not have owned it on here. So via auctions whats the average to be knocked off a car price? A 50k car maybe the best part around 17/18k on normal market.

Not sure. Never purchased one from auction. A friend of mine told me about it as I told him last week that I'm now in a position to by one. I've seen a couple on here for sale and have left posts for the owners to get in touch with me.

Now is the time to get one in my opinion. The mk 1 Focus RS is due to go up dramatically id say in the next year if you follow suit with Escort RS turbos and cossie.

Although the mileage sounds ok it is definitely not everything . 5 owners would concern me , what modifications has it had , rust is the main concern though irrespective of mileage . Any service history ?
Have you a link to the auction website ?

Hi. Unfortunately I don't have access to auction site. I was told by a friend about it. The reg is AK53KGE. I was hoping someone on here would have known something but as no one has I won't bother with it. I will try and buy one off one of the members here.

Sorry, only just read this thread.

Do know of the car. One of the past owners was in connection with our club as a member for two years. Will try an make contact with him to see this thread.

It's my old car. I know when I got rid it needed body work doing and it had a running issue. But I traded it in in June so don't know what's happened between then and now
I'd say the best bet is to ring warsop motor company that's who I traded it in with and ask to speak to Martyn Holmes

Ok. Thanks for the heads up. I'll prob give it a miss then. It's too risky as the auction is online and without a mechanical report. I suppose the running issue has not been sorted hence why it's in an auction. I'll become a full member so that I can post and receive pm from members and hopefully be an owner of a nice mk1 soon.

Hi yes it did sell, I purchased the vehicle.
I'd describe it as near enough out the box. Will learn how to work this in the morning. And post some pics. .... did I think loose a boost pipe on the way back home however car has a genuine 50k on it with FSH

Congrats mate. I was thinking about going for it but wasn't brave enough to buy from auction. No problems with it?
