  • Side skirt attachment

    Hi,
I was wondering if someone could tell me if double sided tape or similar is used to attatch the sideskirts, along with the connectors at the ends and underneath?

The reason I'm asking is I'm having the sills done and when I came to remove the skirts, the body shop that painted the car 4 years ago had decided it was a good idea to windscreen glue them to the car as well!! Which was a nightmare to get through. Thanks for your help 🙂

Are they easy to remove? Id like to check behind mine to see the condition.

Mine were a nightmare to remove. But the body shop had gone mental with the glue. My brother repairs and replaces windscreens, etc so is used to dealing with the glue. The method we found best was to use cheesewire, but u just have to be extremely careful. We ended up with some minor nicks to the skirts, but nothing that can't be repaired. It took us 4 hours to get both off. But, as I said there was a lot of glue, and the factory approach might not be as severe. Good luck! I

Sadly the factory approach is just as bad! Some people have had real issues removing them without damage.

Have to be really careful if you warm the skirts up too, been done before and can ripple the skirts.

I think that's happened to one of mine. I think they have been off before as drivers side is slightly rippled.

As mentioned before, some heat and cheese wire will do the job.
Be very patient and get some extra hands.
