Permanent fix is just fitting a new roll pin, use the correct specified one and it will last for years. I would not advice to use something else like e.g. a bolt, as when that bolt snaps, part of it may fall in the gearbox, damaging gears etc, which will cost loads, whereas as the pin breaks it will stay in place.
also not too hard a job to sort, remove battery and CC box and you're able to extract the selector mechanism from the box once you undone the cables. Pretty straightforward job

Ok thanks mate would you no where I could get a new roll pin from
Normally any decent shop that is specialised in industrial fasteners should be able to get you a correct one.
Dunno wherabouts in UK you should find stuff like that as i'm Belgian 😎
just googled this : https://shop4fasteners.co.uk/fastene...ring-pins.html, they come per 50pieces, but at around a tenner for 50 😠that is good value for money imho

Comes out either way, never had problems removing any, just hit it with a hammer until flush, afterwards use a drift punch
if broken, make sure it lines up, if not you are not able to punch it through, if broken try and remove the shift finger from the axle and the punch the pin out
So I have removed the scroll pin and that is all good.....so I'm gonna let Demon Pete sort it for me 🤦*â™‚ï¸ Does anyone know the torque setting for the gearbox mount.
