  • Aftermarket oil / water temp gauge

    Hi all,

Ive recently had a cooling water leak in one of the tubes, luckily i noticed it quickly while driving.
I was planning to fit an aftermarket water temp gauge into it. A bit scared to have another leak, so now im speeding it up.
I know some of you guys have fitted some, i was wondering wich one and where did you have it installed in the dash?

A brand and perhaps a photo of how/where u fitted it would be awesome.

    Kind regards

    Klaas

I used a stack water temp gauge, I modified an st170 pod to mount the gauge so I didn't have to use an a pillar pod mount or a vent pod mount thing. I did have to also buy an st170 instrument cluster surround though.

I mounted the temp probe in the top radiator hose, I cut a bit out of the hose and joined the parts with a mishimoto temp sensor coupler mount.. thing. I forget the size I used, but I think it was somewhere in the 30mm range.

There's a picture somewhere in there, I'm on my phone right now and Imgur sucks on mobile so I can't get a specific image link..

I did the same but with a SPA gauge measuring water temp (top hose) and oil pressure (piggy back onto the OEM sender)

you can of course get a scangauge and display 4 different values of your choice available from the ECU

Hi, how did you connect the spa gauge to the OEM sender, please?
Did the gauge show correct readings?

            No.
What you need to purchase is an adaptor so you can fit both OEM Sender and the SPA sender..I think I got mine from Demon Tweeks but it was over 12 years ago.
So the OEM Sensor tells the ECU Info
And the SPA Sensor tells the SPA gauge

OK, this is how it should be done.
I only wondered if there is some other way, after reading your post saying :"piggy back onto the OEM sender".
              Thank you
