Pleased to say I picked up two collector items last week and so chuffed to have them as I have been after these for years. As promised here are the pictures with the letters that support each complementary gift.

Here is one of the items sent out by Ford Motor Company to an owner who had secured his Focus RS before production. This owner eventually owned 0376.

Here is the Colin McRae book sent out by FMC to early owners who were on the Focus RS waiting list. This was also supplied to the owner of 0376.

Would be interesting to know the criteria of how what seems a few selected owners getting the goodwill gifts from FMC.... wonder if it was all orders taken before 2002?

There are loads of the books on eBay Bart, but no love letters to go with them unfortunately!!

Different model car to the one I have! Was sold this one from an owner who had bought his car new and he told me he was given it from ford as a sweetener for waiting for his car

Order was placed as soon as it became available on the system. Andy Barrett was the Scottish regional manager at the time and knew of our intentions back in 2001 when rumours started to circulate. Had a joke at the time as bought a 2.0 Zetec as an interim car.

but I have the factory print out of when my car was built

I just recently discovered this topic. In Belgium, as far as I know, there were no initiatives of any kind by FMC towards the FRS buyers (if somebody has other info, please share). Because of my family being a local Ford dealer, I was lucky to get in contact with the Belgian FMC Focus brand manager at that time. The funny thing was, that most of the FRS info/updates she got, came from me which i got (or asked) by following/reading the forum of The Mad Welshman aka Stuart Griffiths. Which made/makes it clear for me that for FMC Belgium, the only 50+ FRS allocations were no real priority.

Are their any other first owners of original Belgian FRS’s on this forum? And if yes, how was your experience when ordering/ buying the car back in time?
