Last built Focus RS

Last night I decided to search through the whole build list to look for the Last Built Focus RS and thought it would be nice to share. Many owners are led to believe that 4501 being the last build number is the last car off the production line but according to FMC build dates 4501 is not the last car to roll off the production line.

4501 has the build date of 15th October 2003.

Searching through the database of all the cars known to date the actual car being the last off the production line is build number 2903.


2903 has the build date of 11th December 2003 so close to two months apart.


I am pleased to say that this car is owned by a fellow club member. CossieYB here is a tag to a thread related to your car and something I am sure you will be pleased to know.



As I add missing cars to the build list I will be looking at keeping on track of the built dates in case a later date is found, however I do think its going to be a hard date to beat being so close to Christmas.

Not far off mine, 2816.

I remember it always said that a certain batch of build numbers went missing and that when found went on the last batch of cars.

They were the numbers 2500 - 3000 roughly

This maybe have some truth to it seeing 2903 was the last.

That begs another question.....was 0001 the first car to roll off the production line? I guess it probably was, as they would have had their ducks all in a row(so to speak) at the beginning of the production cycle.

How did ford number the builds then if 2903 was the last off the production line as its 1598 build numbers away from 4501?

I wouldn't be surprised to find out they stacked the boxes of build number plugs in the wrong order, or just had a massive tray of them, and just grabbed at random. I'm not imagining an AMG style production line where one guy looked after the engine from build to install, rather a bunch of blokes putting the cars together. Perhaps there's someone in the know who can shed some light?

0001 was the first off the production line and build date for RS02 FMC is 4th September 2002.
