Hi all,
Since I've already found an amazing load of information on here, it's only fair to introduce myself and my Mk1 RS, number 1961. Originally a swiss car, then Germany, and now since a few months in Belgium.
It was always driven on seasonal plates so it has a near mint underside, and the rest also shows a well loved car by its previous owners. Now has around 92000km and up until now it's standard besides h-r springs, some spacers, a CSC exhaust, k-n filter, and a Bosch 110 motorsport DV. Oh and a black roof lining which is rather nice, including the sun visors and all the trim.
After having done some basics like thermostat housing, coolant reservoir, clutch master cylinder, cv boot, all ignition, faulty connected boost solenoid, and some small maintance stuff it was ready for a 2500km roadtrip trough France, Germany, and Switzerland.
Had loads of fun and enjoyed the package and general robustness these cars have.
So bit the bullet and ordered some parts, together with a phone call to Leighton at Sabre.
The next week or 2 i'm installing a Peron manifold, Piper 3" downpipe with 200cell cat, DW 265 fuelpump, 630cc Siemens Deka's, Roose intake hose, Airtec chargecooler, and ITV 27 spark plugs.
The turbo and ECU are off to Sabre for the 400RS conversion, after which i'll have a drive to the UK for final mapping. Should land at some pretty good numbers, and only the clutch will probably be a weak link. It's only 10k km's old so quite fresh so we'll see how long (or not) she copes.
