New Owner 2995

Good evening all. I have just purchased Number 2995 after 20 plus years of thinking I would never get the opportunity to own one.

Currently sat alongside my ST170, Spork KA and 1.7 Puma. I’ve got a bit of a thing for Fords as I’m sure we all have.

I can’t wait to get out and about in it once I’ve done a few bits and the weather picks up.

First issue is sorting out the alarm which is constantly going off after replacing the battery. I’ve done a fair bit of googling and I have a few things to try, I think it’s to do with the GT RS alarm.

But I’ve taken the horn fuse out for now so not to disturb the neighbours while I’m tinkering with it haha. I’ll get some pictures posted up as soon as I can and hopefully, I’ll be able to find a way to sort out the issues here.

Cheers, yeah they weren't the easiest to get hold of and maintain contact with, but I think I just pestered them and then drove to the dealer as they were fairly close and took it from there.

it looks like a decent car for the money but only time will tell, i'm sure i'll enjoy it either way. Good luck with your search for an RS.

Definitely mate get suck in I know there can be issues with the bonnet Switch, try bit of wd40 might be sticky , good luck

Cheers, it’s all standard/original apart from a scorpion exhaust and a baileys dump valve from what I can see and the odd silicon hose.

I’ve got a couple of issues I’m going to be working through over the next few months, mainly what I think is an issue with a leaking charge cooler and cooler radiator. I’m tempted to get a front mount intercooler set up for it to simplify the system and provide a bit of reliability. Rather than changing out the old bit for more old bits. But I’ve still got some research to do on that.

I’ll start a build thread with a load of pictures and to document the work I’m going to be doing to it. But the idea is get it running well and enjoy using it.
