Future new owner - 2722

Hello there, everyone! My name is Aaron and I am from Canada. The first generation Focus RS has been on a poster on my wall for the last 10 years and finally come end of January I will be able to pay off my car which is currently sitting at PowerPlay UK.
They have agreed to ship it to Canada, and it will be driven here in summer only, and may be taken to the Pennsylvania for the Ford nationals in Carlisle PA, USA for the car show.

I'm currently in the middle of research for this car, production number is 2722, from the picture of the car it looks incredibly clean, and it also has a ST 170 speedometer surround with what looks like a scan gauge off to the left. And looks like a complete exhaust system.

I am absolutely beyond excited to finally get this car over to Canada. And don’t worry, only modifications this car is getting is left-hand drive SVT headlights with the projectors in them. And they’re getting painted black. That’s it. Car will stay standard as it is a collectors item.

And no it’s not ever seeing snow.

Genuine LHD Mk1 RS headlights are still available from new, they are around €100 each. Let me know when interested and I will be able to help you.

I will probably be in contact with you come February or March. Friend of mine Jonathan also lives over there and I think he owns a performance parts shop? I’ll be looking for a couple spares after the car gets here.

Good to talk with you yesterday and have sent you lots of history-related information to you. I managed to get a reply from the previous owner who part exchanged the car to Powerplay. Hope the information answers all your queries. Also the previous owner had given some of the original parts to Powerplay, the Cat being one of them you were asking about so make sure you ask them for it.

Yes, funny enough I actually emailed Power Play and they’re gonna be sending me all of the parts that he included in the boot! Lol

I’m going to see if I can have some more parts from Jonathan and other members sent there, then put in the boot as well for combined shipping!

Little update! Car is getting on the boat over to canada some time this upcoming week! I have appointment for a “safety” (inspection here) April 12th

car is RHD in a LHD country which isnt a problem.

LHD RS headlights - done
2 Reverse lights - installed when car arrives. Parts acquired
DRL lights - will copy my focus SVT for that.
neutral safety switch. (We are bypassing installing that. Not needed but recommended. (Push clutch to start))

soon an original RS will meet an original SVT!

dont fret! Car will not get rusty here and get killed or excessively modified. I understand how sought after these cars are. Its staying mint shape. J9 performance purchase was a big one lol 😂

Really cool that you're doing this, im sure it will turn a lot of heads over there.
I know it sounds like a cliche because i own one, but they have so much presence on the road.
Before i owned one i used to love seeing one come down the road towards me!

Update! RS is officially in Canada and getting an inspection for road safety in Winnipeg Manitoba. It needs left hand drive headlights, so I am sticking some chrome xenon in there from ST170 / SVT.

suspension seems a little worn, so I’m going to need to swap those out with factory replacements. And eventually I would like to do a clutch on it, just in case mine ever wears out, but I figure sooner the better I can at least get my hands on a factory one.
