New member and new car !

Hi everyone ! I’m James from Chester. I have been looking for a Mk1 RS for over 10 years. I currently own five ST170’s, two are mint condition after full re-builds and the rest are mid-restoration.

Yesterday was finally the day !

Picked her up from Sandbach.

She’s had a full underbody nut and bolt restoration by the previous keeper who kept it in a heated garage, there is NO rust whatsoever and is completely standard.

Paint has been ceramic coated, wheels have been refurbished. Car is in MINT condition.

Just want to see if she’s been on here before ?

I know your car from three previous owners plus the dealer you purchased the car from, spotted her for sale recently.

The car did have a few modifications but these must have been removed prior to the sale James.

Ahh that’s interesting then !
The seller did say it had the original exhaust fitted, which is what I would have wanted, I’m more for originality/ standard as 2 of my 170’s are modified but getting to the point of keeping it as it should be sort of thing.
Would be good to find out some history of the car etc.

Its pretty much standard again as far as I can see, and it’s had a full nut / bolt restoration under neath , it’s like brand new and the cars been kept in a heated garage for the last few years.

Yes I had 6 at one point but whittled down to just 3 now, 2 are roadworthy and 1 is my track toy. She's taken me on many track days over the last 3 years, but I have only come from one track day where the car was "drivable" due to something falling off or something blowing up. On its 3rd engine and 7th gearbox (the Getrag 6 speeds are basically made out of chocolate) and 3rd or 4th clutch. if you're on the ST170 owners group on FB you will see many of my broken pics from trackways lol

I always wanted an impy blue 170 but never got around to owning one, had every other colour though ! but the RS makes up for it !
