Hi, I'm the new owner of car no. 0159. I'm an avid long term RS enthusiast based in Central Scotland and hope to meet some of you in due course. If anyone knows much about my car I'd be very appreciative. Its in amazing condition with a few mods and looks as if its been well looked after and serviced over the years. Doug

Being made to feel very welcome. My car has done 71k miles with few owners and loads of history. Picked her up tonight and had a leisurely drive back to Stirling where I live, so hopefully see some of my fellow central region owners out and about. I'll try get some pics up over the coming days. The car is immaculate and definitely been well looked after over the years with annual servicing judging by the stamped up service book and all the paperwork with her.

It was good times with you on RSOC back in the Gizmo days I recall. It's taken me a long time to finally find my way into a Mk1 Focus RS. I'd originally ordered one back in 2000 and have all the do us and brochures of the time, however, you'll prob recall the build dates kept getting out back and back therefore the need for a new car in early 2002 meant I went for something else but still kept the deposit in place.
However, I always regretted not getting my Focus RS even when my dealer called me late in 2003 I think it was to say I was top of the list to get the last car, which I still declined for some unknown reason….Fast forward nearly 10 years though and that deposit at my dealers was still there and eventually meant I was top of the queue with them for a Focus Mk2 RS500 which I jumped at.
Didn't let that one pass me by!! That said, I still hankered after a Mk1 RS Focus to join the three RS1600i's I've got, a Series 1 turbo, a 3dr Cosworth, a Rouse 4wd and various others. Delighted to finally get my MK1 focus RS now though. Brilliant car!Last edited by Marathonman72; 01-02-2022, 06:13 AM.Comment

Three RS1600i's, stunning! It's the car that made me fall in love with Ford for over 30 years ago.

Similar story with the deposit but stupidly I switched mine to a ST170 back in the day but roll around 2004 and I was in a MK1 FRS, sold it a good few years later and missed it ever since, finally bought another 2 weeks ago 😀

Thank you both. Would love to see as pic of your graphite RS1600i too BartFRS.... I've got a mint graphite one as well, with just over 70k miles - was my favourite colour of them all, and funnily enough, the very car I used to admire in my home town back in the late 80's is the one I am now lucky enough to own. also have a mint black one and a white one undergoing some restoration which I bought from James Tinkler when we were both on the RSOC committee back in early 2000's. All are Y reg cars although owned an A reg black one back in late 80's too. Still my favourite RS car, although I'm finding the Focus RS Mk1 has many similar characteristics. I also owned a number of series 1 RS turbos over the years but never took to them as well as the RS1600i, the latter being like a go kart with decent power to match the turbo if you added a Janspeed and K&N and decent cam but with much better handling than the turbos imho. Really just the brakes were the disappointment...lol
