            I'm torn in my search.
I currently have an Escos , Escort rs turbo s1, alongside a Puma (not frp)
My heart wants a heavily modified car but my head says standard!
            Whats the general consensus?
Higher mileage usable car thats modified or low mileage immaculate car for more of an investment?
My last Escort Cosworth ( i had two at one point) was 380bhp 380 lbft. Fun and exhilarating to drive but wouldnt want to daily it!
I intend to have the focus as a bit of a cruiser that i can put a decent audio install in and still have a bit of fun.
The puma is now a track orientated car with no interior, bucket seats and coilovers etc. If it pops the engine its only 150 quid for an engine. Hahahah
I regularly do Nurburgring trips but wouldnt do many laps in the focus if i took it. Just for pictures of it on track more.
Last ring trip in the puma did 11 laps in the snow in a day.

If you want to mess with the audio and have some fun in it then i wouldnt waste your time and money focusing (see what i did there 😉) on buying a pristine standard one as an investment, i would aim to buy a nice condition still, slightly more used maybe with a couple of choice modifications personally. There are some nice examples around.

This is the problem. I have checked out all of the advertised ones, one in particular appears to have had a full respray and wings etc off and repaired but the engine mods have also been half removed so would still need to spend a fair few quid to restore it engine wise to either standard or around 350 bhp.
Others are untouched yet still commanding a sizeable value.
I used to have a mk1 2004 tdci sport and loved the car but sold it when a child came along and a more practical car was required.
Would be happy to see if there are other sites that i may not have viewed cars for sale?

There may be a possibility of my 65,000 mile near standard (other than KW V1 coilovers) being prised from my grasp. It is having the bumper and bonnet painted (stone chips) at the moment and everything I've done to it has involved only genuine Ford parts. Cambelt, tensioners, belts, rocker gasket etc replaced late last year along with a full service with all fluids changed. New rear discs, pads and genuine Lucas rear calipers fitted the other week (still not even bedded in). Brand new original genuine Ford RS steering wheel fitted, and a scangauge mounted into the ST dash surround, (original surround to put back to stock kept). New Pilot sport 3 (front) and 4 (rear) tyres. A history folder has been compiled by the previous three owners and added to with all invoices etc. Book pack, mats etc all present. It is no concourse but the body is in excellent condition and has been waxoiled underneath (no rot) so will stand up to being shown with the best of them.

Thats sounds of interest for sure! Do you happen to still have the o.e suspension to return to stamdard if needed? Are the kw's crashy or harsh?

It came with the Coilovers or I would've returned to original as I am a manufacturer spec kinda enthusiast. To be fair they are really good and not too firm for the country roads where I live.

The splitter has been removed now as the bumper is in for a repaint. It won't be going back on as not an original Ford fitment and the fibreglass was cracked and I've heard they can tear bumpers if impacted.
