I just want to say a big thank you to Marathonman72
After putting up a post about my alternator giving up Geraint kindly offered me a newly reconditioned Ford alternator still in the wrapper and whilst originally I was happy to wait to meet up when convenient unfortunately other things have popped up which meant I needed the alternator quite soon so not only did he give me the alternator for nothing he wouldn't even take postage cost off of me.

He has helped me out hugely and now the alternator is on the car hopefully soon it will back on the road thanks to Geraint. So it's a massive thank you again and all the help is greatly appreciated.

Poynter87 as I said in our PM to each other, I have seen that you are always ready to help out other members and offer advice when you can, and this doesn’t go unnoticed!
I doubt that I will ever the need the alternator myself so I was more than happy to give it to you if it meant you getting your car back on the road so that you can enjoy driving it again!

I like to help out when I can and if it means keeping other owners cars on the road then that is enough for me as I don't do it to receive anything but when I'm on the receiving end of someone's help I do appreciate it.
Hopefully I can get the car up and running tomorrow as the alternator is on and the new battery has arrived but I'm having a nightmare trying to get the belt on. As long as it goes through the mot once it's running I will be at the 20th anniversary meet where I will be sure to buy you a drink at least.
