Afternoon folks has anyone used these slam panel vents ?
Do they help much?
My car seems to run fairly hot thought these might help ??

I have one of the original deflector panels with these vents in and the air intake temperature is slightly lower but it has been mentioned that these vent panels have the scoops going in the wrong direction so won't be effective at directing the cold air in the areas needed if that is the case. If you want to lower the coolant temperature then you can use a lower temperature thermostat as I used to run a 83°c thermostat and the highest I used to see was 90°c when driving normally.

Thanks for the info ðŸ»My normal running temps seem to be over 100 all the time on scan gauge it's had a new radiator and put a 83 thermostat in but hasn't made much difference the fans work as they should not sure what can be causing it to run hot ??Comment

The reason your thermostat hasnt made much difference is the fact that it mainly exists to control the lower range of the coolant temp.
Once the engine is up to running temp then both the lower temp stat and the standard one are open and performing the same function. All it is doing is opening sooner. This has some benefits on a track car or highly modified road car but not at running temp.
100°c or there abouts shown on the Scangauge is well within the correct range due to the way the temp is measured on these cars.
These vents are the subject of much controversy at the moment 🤣. What i will say is, they may not be an exact copy of the originals (which are no longer produced) but they will be pretty close performance wise i'd imagine.Comment
