  • Replace Rear quarter panels / rear arches!!?? Ex-pressed steel?

Hi, i want to get my rear arches repaired. I've found some rear quarter panels from Ex-Pressed Steel based in Yorkshire. As anyone bought there panels and know if they are good quality and a good match. Price £201.70 +vat.

Any advice on the rear quarters would be much appreciated! Cheers!

Interesting and just had a look at their webshop and Instagram.
It seems as they are Ford licensed, so you would expect high quality and excellent fitment.
I would personally give it a try, but would be good to hear from owners who used them.

Do you do front wings? That is a really good price compared to the £1250 odd price I have seen else where, which are just primed black!!

I'll e mail them and ask if maybe they could produce some. Surely if them mould the rear quarters they do make some front wings?

Agreed. I have e mailed asking about the option to make some and that I was member of the club. I also stated if made that they would generate decent sale returns.
Maybe a well served conversation from Clayton might well work better?

I don't have anything to add other than to say that is a very interesting option.

I might be tempted by a pair of repro rear arches come the new year..

I have spoken with the Director of Ex-Pressed Steel Panels, the rear arch sections have been copied directly from an original Mk1 Focus RS quarter panel as they purchased the originals to replicate them so should be identical. They will also be offering the front wings as they have the originals of these too.

If we had a few members interested in purchasing the arch sections we could look at asking for a member saving for a Group Buy?

Excellent work Clayton. Would be silly not to purchase these items at good prices to keep our beauties on the road and not ripped off by inflated prices.

Just need someone to make the side skirts now lol 😆

I would be after full set of wings / rear arches too, in light of KINGHORN comment below maybe we could enquire if they could reproduce rear qtr panels as per the ford originals with join on the pillars for easier neater fitting?

What a great deal to bring back a few of our rotten cars on the road again with this opportunity. Not all are garage queens.

Bazandbeanz I remember seeing this company making the side skirts a few years ago not sure if they still do make them or not but if someone needs a pair could be worth sending them a message.

Could you message him Richard and see if he still does them? I'm not on Facebook and seems thats where he might sell them.

This is very interesting would be good to know that replacment panels are available.
Dont think you'll have any shortage of people wanting a set of front wings for the group buy.

Brilliant response guys! Thanks! And cheers to clayton. Well obviously I'm definitely interested in the rear quarters. And more than likely also buy the front wings it they come available.

Yeah I'm the same. I only have a tiny bit of surface rust on one font wing but its good to know that we can get these parts again.

Just to let you all know we have sent an email to the director of Ex-Pressed Steel Panels today asking if they could offer our club a member discount for a Group Buy.

Will keep you informed of the response and fingers crossed we can be in connection with Ex-Pressed Panels.

Guys, following e mail just received. But since my original e mail Clayton has also made contact.

                  Hi Barry,

Thanks for getting in touch. If we were going to start making front arches we would need someone to place an order for 10 pairs of them. If you're part of the RS owner's club it might be worth suggesting they could be available as part of a group buy. At the moment the waiting time for any new panels is up to 12 months so please bear that in mind.

If you have please let me know.

                  Kind regards

                  Harriet Milburn

Just a word of warning. The 1/4 panels were something I looked at a while back when considering another car. Yes they are copied from original panels but they are not full panels. A Ford panel joins on the pillars so short welds these panels join on the body line.

As I say this is just a word of warning that you are going to need a panel beater that's worth his job title to get it on without a shed load of filler to smooth out the warped panel. These are a fantastic price but will need to factor in some extra cash for fitting over a full panel.
