As you say although the mileage is nowhere near, the time isnt too far away. Well worth doing for piece of mind!

Decided that mine is being done next year. Might drive to Pete's place for a change. Haven't been there for so long. Last done at 67k, now on 81k, but 11 years between changes, and best to get it done I think.

11 years....well worth getting done asap in my opinion. Im sure its 100k or 10 years recommended, whichever comes first. (Ok maybe not completely sure but it rings a bell)
I often do mine myself on my cars and i'll be doing it this winter on the focus, been about 4 years but as the car runs more power than standard i like to do them nice and regularly.
Gives me an opportunity to get a service in at the same time and have a little look over things.

Yep, 11 years, but in that time, the car has done micro mileage year after year. That service schedule will be based on cars doing normal miles, as a daily driver, not a car like mine, which sits there month after month, not turning a wheel. But, at the same tine, it will be done, in April and am planning on going to Petes, just to stretch the cars legs a bit.

Sadly the service schedule for belts is also based on material deterioration which happens regardless of mileage. So thats why its x amount of miles or x amount of time, whichever comes first. A lot of people dont realise this and it becomes a bit of a mess when the belt snaps.
In a similar fashion, tyre age is becoming more of a factor on vehicles and its definitely filtering down towards cars now and not just hgvs. Which is no bad thing in my eyes.
