  • Central Locking

Hi Guys, I have my first problem with the focus in 17 months. I,m hoping it's not to a big problem, my central locking has stopped working and I have to open the car with the key now, I have changed the battery in the key but to no avail. Any idea's to put me in the right direction.
    Cheers

I would check fuse 63 behind glovebox first, I found a video on youtube (not mine): fuse 63 location
If the fuse is good, I suggest to check door latch, you need to remove the doorcard and unplug the latch from the loom.
I've read that some connections suffer from water which shortcuts the system, so malfunction.
Start with drivers door, unplug the latch and test if the central locking works on the other door.
If it's still not working, plug it back and check other door latch.

I have exactly the same problem...does the central locking just work off the key as I don't have the rs fob??

Central locking works off the key (well, at least here as we haven't got the additional alarm/RS fob).

I've just been told that the RS fob also locks and unlocks the doors.

No point checking the fuse if your passenger door locks and unlocks as normal and your drivers door doesn't. Better check the mechanisme of the drivers door🏼

How come it's a problem with only one key?
Does the drivers door make any noise when trying to unlock by remote key?

No..the passenger door just locks then unlocks immediately as it's not getting the single the drivers door isn't locking

I would remove the drivers door mechanisme, pretty sure that's the issue.
